Celine is a character in Fields of Mistria. She lives northward of the farm in a cottage. She gifts the player a hoe and three bags of tulip seeds upon starting a new game. Her family owns the General Store.

Personality

Celine is friendly, kind, and loves interacting with both the player and the other villagers. She loves nature and studying plants, and thus you can often find Celine working in her garden. She has a book called the Codex Mistria that houses information on various flowers and plants. At the inn on Friday nights, you can see her playing D&D with her friends, which shows she enjoys roleplaying.

Appearance

Celine has light turquoise eyes and fair skin. Her blonde hair reaches to her waist and is typically set in a braided half updo. Occasionally, she puts her hair in braids.

Celine is the oldest daughter of Holt and Nora. She has a younger sister, Dell.

4 Heart Event: "Water and Soil"

Hey, [NAME]! You got my letter? I'm so glad! Let's solve the mystery of this seed! So here's what we know already. While I still haven't fully translated the codex, I'm pretty sure this section describes our seed. It seems like the type of soil and the amount of watering are most important. But there seem to be other extra special conditions as well. Oh, I'm just not sure! [Well let's start with what we do know!] Ah, you’re right. I’m getting ahead of myself. [Nobody knows more about this seed than you!] Haha, that’s a nice way of looking at it! For the type of soil, I tried to mimic the growing conditions where we found it. Rocky with a good mix of clay. But I think the seed could use a good wake-up call of nutrients. [NAME], could you add however much plant food you think best? It’s my own special blend! [Let’s add just a pinch and go from there.] Sensible! This seed has been so patient, we can be patient too! [The more fertilizer the better!] You’re right! Who doesn’t like a big breakfast! Now to water it… The seed has been dormant so long that I  think it’d be hard to overwater it, but the pot has excellent drainage, so we should be okay in either case. The book is no help, I can’t translate this word here. [NAME], could you tell me what you think it says? [Looks like we just want to dampen the soil…] You better do it, [NAME]. I’m too nervous! [Looks like it wants us to douse it!] You better do it, [NAME]. I’m too nervous! Come on little seed… you can do it! I guess it’s silly of me to think anything would actually happen right away- Oh my! [Name]! It looks just like the sprout from the book! It IS the flower from my childhood! We should make precise notes of everything we did while we can still remember. You don’t mind, do you [NAME]? I’ll put on a pot of tea!

6 Heart Event: "A Change of Green-ery"

Receive a letter from Celine asking you to come over and help her brainstorm ways to help the mystery sprout grow. [Player Name], you came! I've been trying everything I can think of! Lighting levels, humidity, temperature... But it's not growing at all. It's one of a kind, so I don't want to try anything too drastic, but at this point I'm running out of ideas. What does the Codex say? It's not much help, I just haven't translated enough of it... Maybe we could go looking for more seeds? We could, but I think we might have gotten really lucky the first time. There's a knock on the door and Dell walks in. Dell: Hey sis! Hey [Player Name]! Dad baked a Cherry Cobbler! Mom says you have to come over cause me and Dad can't eat it all ourselves. We totally could though, I don't know what she's talking about. Celine: Oh, I'd love to! But [Player Name] and I are trying to get some important work done. Dell: [Player Name] can have some too! Let's bring the sprout along, maybe it'd like a change of scenery. You might be onto something! It's certainly worth a try. Fresh out of the oven cobbler? As a treat? Ooh, it does sound good, doesn't it? How about we bring the sprout with us? It might like the change of scenery. Dell: Yaaaay, it's cobbling time! The scene changes to you three walking outside Celine's house. Dell: So [Player Name], you and Celine are like best friends right? She talks about you all the time. Celine: Dell! Dell: Why is your face getting all red like that? Celine: Why don't you run ahead and let Mom and Dad know we're on our way? Dell: Okaaaaay! Celine: Ahaha... You both enter the house with Nora, Holt, and Dell already present. Nora: Celine, you brought a friend! Make yourself at home, [Player Name]. Holt: Hope you two are ready for the finest Cherry Cobbler currently in this kitchen! Celine: We sure are! I hope you don't mind, [Player Name] and I thought we'd try a little experiment with the sprout. Nora: A good dessert needs a centerpiece for the table, that's what I always say. Dell: I don't think I've ever heard you say that, Mom. Holt: Do you think your plant would like some cobbler? Just so it knows we're all rooting for it. Celine: Oh Dad... It should know we be-leaf in it. [Player Name], not you too! Yeah! All it needs is some grow-ti-vation! [Player Name], not you too! Nora: Hahaha! Dell: Come on, Celine! Celine: Well, I- I suppose this can be my good seed for the day. Holt: That's my girl! Nora: Celine, your plant is growing! Celine: Oh my gosh! Holt: A plant that grows on puns, huh? Maybe I missed my calling! Celine: No no, I don't think it was that... I should get home to write all this down! Dell: No time for cobbler? Celine: Ah, r-right. Of course! You completed this quest-Cherry Cobbler included!
