Essence is an item in Fields of Mistria. Essence is a form of currency that is used to unlock upgrades for skills. Essence can also be used to craft essence stones that are used to power magical tools.
Obtaining[]
The ability to earn essence can be unlocked following the first cutscene with Caldarus - which unlocks Caldarus' Statue on the player's farm. Once unlocked, essence can be obtained in a variety of ways - chopping trees, mining, farming, fishing and foraging all have the potential to drop essence when carried out. Essence orbs are automatically added to the player's total essence count when the player is in close proximity to dropped orbs.
