It's a Wild Berry Pie, made with all local ingredients! Give it a try! Reina: So whatcha think? Didn't that hit the spot? T-this is the best slice of pie I've ever had!: That's what I like to hear! I think Mistrian berries really make it standout. Hmm, I'm not sure. Can I have another slice?: Haha, you don't fool me, [PLAYER NAME]! Tell you what, I'll be sure to send you home with another slice. Reina: I'm glad you could come by, [PLAYER NAME]. It's always nice to have a new palate to taste test on. I've got just about everyone's favorites memorized! Reina: Actually, Adeline has something something in the works that might help spread Mistrain cooking all over the country. I'd been hoping to hear back from her today... Adeline enters the Inn. Adeline: Reina! The letter just arrived, Mistria has been accepted! Reina: Oh my gosh! Reina: Adeline entered the inn into a culinary event that has a panel of judges traveling around the country trying all the very best food! Adeline: I just knew you'd get accepted! Winning could mean big things for all of Mistria! Reina: I've got a lot of work to do get ready. New dishes to test and perfect, and that's with keeping on top of running the Inn's kitchen to boot... Reina: I-I may have bitten off more than I can chew. If anyone can do it, you can Reina!: Do you really think so? I'm happy to help test any new dishes you whip up!: I'm glad I can count on you! Adeline: You can rely on me as well, Reina. I'll see if I can't wrangle up some extra tips on wowing the judges. Not that I think you'll have any trouble with that! Reina: Yeah, you two are right! Now, how about I cut all some fresh slices of pie? [OBTAIN WILD BERRY PIE!]

4 Heart Event: "Shopping Buddy"

The player enters the general store after getting an invitation to go shopping with Reina Reina: [NAME], hey! You ready to do a little shopping? Holt: I was just telling Reina here, you two couldn’t have picked a better time! A fresh shipment came in this morning and I stocked the shelves myself! Reina: We’ve got our pick of the place, [NAME]! Let’s make it count! [Let’s go with something local, a real taste of Mistria!] I like the way you think! [You got any of those reeeeeal sour gummy candies, Holt?] Haha, that’ll certainly get the judges’ attention! Now let’s see… Ooh, these herbs are from Celine’s garden. Would you smell that thyme! I think we’ve got our seasoning! Holt: Thyme will tell, but I think you’ve made a good choice, Reina. Hmm… now that I think about it, we actually got a surprise in our shipment today. This here is a Dragon Horn Mushroom! We don’t usually keep them in stock, too hard to find. Reina: Wow! I’ve never heard of it before! Holt: You need a bit of knack to find them, Nora and I used to pick them as kids! You can eat ‘em raw, but they’re great sauteed, fried, really any which way. I thought I’d just have it as a snack but… Reina: It sure does look tasty… [Why don’t we give it a try?] I do love to experiment with a new ingredient! [I be-leaf we’ve found our ingredient!] Holt: [NAME], that was sup-herb! Holt: You two don’t leave mushroom for augments! Tell you what, that and the thyme are on the house. Reina: Thanks, Holt! Come on [NAME]! I’ve got a little stovetop set up in my room, let’s get cooking! Reina and the player relocate to Reina's room. Let’s see, we really want to focus on what makes Mistria special, so I think something… simple but elevated… [Maybe as an amuse bouche?] Yeah, to get them excited for the meal to come! [How about as a dessert!] I bet I could get some pretty good caramelization on this mushroom that would suit a cheese plate… May I present… Dragon Horn Mushroom with Thyme! Ahh, what a flavor! Thanks for your help [NAME]. It isn’t that much food though, is it? Tell you what, there’s a pot of curry from yesterday downstairs, how about I heat some up for us?

6 Heart Event: "Farm Fresh Sous Chef"

Receive a letter from Reina asking you to meet her at the Inn as she has something important to ask you. When you arrive Reina, Josephine, and Hemlock are at the Inn. Hey, [Player Name]! You got my letter? I've been giving this a lot of thought and... Will you... be my sous chef? For the contest? I don't think I can do it without you! Of course, Reina! That's a weight off my mind! Thank you! I'd... I'd love to! R-really? I'm so glad. Thank you! Josephine: Would you listen to these two! Hemlock: Let them cook, dear. Reina: Mom, Dad, we'll be taking over the inn's kitchen to get some practice dishes in. Josephine: As long you're planning to share what you two cook up with the family, feel free! Reina: Alright, [Player Name]. I've got the oven pre-heating, so now it's time to get mixing! Balor walks into the Inn. Hemlock: Balor! Back from the Capital? Balor: I am, and I come bearing some interesting news. The final judge for the Cooking Panel has been selected. It's Taliferro... Reina: There isn't a chef more acclaimed in all of Aldaria, so you can't doubt his abilities, but... Josephine: He's also... prickly. Balor: Arrogant and overcritical, I'd say. No judge is too tough for Reina! I hope you're right! Someone has to win, so why not Reina? That is one way of looking at it... Josephine: If there's anyone's cooking who can impress him, it's definitely Reina's! Reina: Thanks for the heads up, Balor. Balor: Of course. Reina: I think I may have to redo the menu I planned... Taliferro likes food that has been "elevated". This isn't going to be easy... Sounds fun! Let's experiment. Yeah... yeah! It will be fun! "Elevated", huh... Yeah! We'll just have to think outside the box! Let's get cooking, [Player Name]! We'll create a menu Taliferro is going to love! You two begin cooking, brainstorming, and experimenting in the kitchen. When you finish, Josephine, Hemlock, Luc, and Maple are sitting at the table. You two bring over the finished dishes. Reina: Alright taste testers! [Player Name] and I have made some dishes you've definitely never had before! Help yourselves! Josephine: This curry looks wonderful! Why I- It's so sweet! Reina: That's right! I've heard extra sweet curry is popular in the Capital. I went with a lot more honey than usual! Maple: I should have started with that, this chocolate cake is... spicy? That's the layer of chili-infused ganache! Luc: Mom always told us to have dessert last, I've learned my lesson. It adds a bold kick, right? Luc: [Player Name], I thought we were friends. Hemlock: This drink sure is... interesting. Reina: We mixed in agar to make it richer and thicker. Taliferro's restaurant is well-known for incorporating innovative textures to its menu! So what does everyone think? Josephine: Well, it does all taste like something Taliferro might serve... Maple: I want a Grilled Cheese... Hemlock: Maple, hush! Maple: Just make some of the stuff you normally cook, Reina! Reina: Haha... Well thanks for taste testing, everyone. [Player Name] and I better get this all cleaned up. Does anyone want leftovers? Josephine: Oh no dear, I'm simply too full! Everyone has now left, and it's just you two finishing cleaning up. Well that could have gone better. It was fun though! It was, but I don't know... I think the curry has potential. Yeah, I suppose Eiland might like it. Maybe Maple is right. We didn't really showcase Mistrian cooking today, did we? I'm not really sure which direction to go in anymore. This is going to be even harder than I thought. Whatever you decide to make, I'll be right here to help. Thanks, [Player Name]. That means a lot.
